THERE WILL BE A SMALL GATE FEE.  YOU CAN EITHER PAY $3.00 PER GAME OR $5.00 FOR THE WEEKEND PASS.  KIDS 12 AND UNDER ARE FREE.

  Ryan Daugherty – Dallas Stars Midget Major AAA was drafted by the Omaha Lancers of the USHL in the 4th round 35th overall.

Chase Grant – Dallas Stars Midget Major AAA was drafted by the Fargo Force in the 7th round 64th overall pick.

  The Allen HS Ice Hockey Club has registered 2 teams (1 JV and 1 Varsity) for the 2008 Summer High School League to be played at ITC in Richardson. The Season begins mid-May. Click this link for the roster and more details.

April 9 ,2008 2008 - 2009 Board Vote April 21st at 7pm  
  There is a meeting on Monday, April 21 at 7pm in the AHS library to vote in the new board for next year. It is critical that you have one member of your family there to vote. There is a contested race for President with Jeff Solomon going against Doug Haunschild. Your vote will determine the direction of Allen Hockey for the next year. The rest of the positions are:

  The Allen Eagle Ice Hockey Club annual Awards Banquet will be held Sunday May 4th At 5:00 PM. This years event is at Southfork Ranch. The dress code is semi-formal, ladies in dresses, gentlemen in suits and ties.  Ticket prices this year are $35.00 per guest and players are free. April 7, 2008 2008 - 2009 Season Sign-Ups - Headcount of interested new players  
  Watch this site for upcoming sign-up information for the 2008-2009 season. We will be activating the online signup form shortly for both returning and new players. In the meantime we ask that NEW players ONLY indicate their interest now using the comments button. We are now taking a head count of new players that have an interest in playing for the Eagles in the 08-09 season.  
     
April 4, 2008 JV PLAYOFFS - City Championship Kicks off Sunday!  
  The JV Team starts their playoff run defending last years City Championship. Be there for GAME 1 this Sunday at Dr. Pepper Star Center Plano on Plano Parkway at 4:30 against Coppell. The JV team is looking forward to your support in the stands. Get out there and back the EAGLES!  
     
April 3, 2008 Varsity Team - we are Proud of the hard work and the season you have put in both on and off the ice.   
  The Varsity Eagles ended up on the short end of the hockey stick last night as they lost to rival Plano West 2 to 0.  A huge thank you has to go out to all that attended. Students, Alumni, JV Players and Parents, Varsity Parents,  and even curious onlookers made it an electric atmosphere.   
     
April 2, 2008 BE THERE! One win and were in the STATE TOURNAMENT!  
 
Allen Eagles Varsity Hockey Team plays rival Plano West Thursday (4/3) night, 8:30 pm at Dr. Pepper Star Center - Plano on Plano Parkway. If the Eagles win this game they qualify for the State Tournament in Houston and the chance to defend last years State Championship!  How many other sports at Allen can say that!  If you're an Allen Sports Fan you owe it to the Eagles to be in the stands for what promises to be an intensive and action packed game! Allen Eagles Hockey Club Board Elections 2008-2009

  
  As we near the end of this season it is already time to begin planning for the 2008-09 season.  In order to begin this process we need to establish our new Board of Directors for next year.  This year the election will take place at our Board Meeting on Monday, April 21, 2008 in the Allen High School Library at 7:00 p.m. 

Each membership family is entitled one vote (unless the family has two players on teams) and it is mandatory that these members participate in the yearly elections. This may be done by a proxy vote if no one is able to attend the meeting and election.

All Board positions are open for nominations.  If you would like to run for a Board position for next year or if you would like to nominate someone please submit a letter of interest (email or postal mail) to Jeff Solomon by Monday, April 7, 2008.

  The TAHA Texas Cup State Championships is scheduled for April 11-13 in Houston. Dallas will be awarded 4 teams, Houston 3 teams and Austin 1 team. More details to follow.

Nov 20, 2007 VARSITY AND JV TEAMS HOLD 2nd PLACE  
  The Allen Eagle Varsity Team and JV Blue Team are both in second place in their Gold Divisions with games in hand against the division leaders. The JV Red team continues to play really hard coming up short but making huge progress.

If you love the game of hockey and care about your Allen Eagles all the support we can get is important.

  Congratulations to Scott Johnson, a 2007 AHS graduate and former Varsity Ice Hockey player. He has advanced to play at the College level in Provo, UT for Brigham Young University. Scott kicks off his season with BYU on October 12th. Check out the BYU Hockey action at this link.

This is a MUST meeting. We will be going over the years activities, contracts,  as well as what info we need to start the season. We will have spirit wear items for sale and most importantly we need to get sizing for new players and existing players as we switch to this years new style jerseys.

Aug 23, 2007 CONGRATULATIONS TO MATT POMBO!  
  Matt is playing in Toronto for the Vaughan Vipers in the CHA Junior A and has the opportunity to play in Europe for three weeks.  He leaves for Germany on Monday and then on to Italy. He then will return to Toronto for the new season.

Matt's mom proudly adds "I already miss him and he won't be able to come home until Christmas for a visit and then until the season ends in May.  This is his dream and we are so happy for him.  We realize if it wasn't for David Fry, Matt wouldn't have had this great opportunity.  He recommended him for this position and due to David's reputation in Canada, the coach gave Matt a tryout and he made the team!  Thanks David".

Pombo closed out his High School hockey career as Allen's goalie in 2007 with a state championship and became the first player in Allen's history, to have his Jersey retired.

April 26, 2007 ANNUAL HOCKEY BANQUET MAY 6th - Looking for "I" Statements!  
  The Allen Eagle Ice Hockey Club annual Awards Banquet will be held Sunday May 6th At 5:00 PM. This years event is at Southfork Ranch.

We are still looking for "I" statements for the Banquet Contest. Send your  most famous true facts to Kay Holloway at trtk34@verizon.net  and let's find out how well our membership knows each other.

Examples: I was the class of 1980 Valedictorian at Glendale High in Boise Idaho. While working at McDonalds in the summer of 1993, I served Bill Clinton an order of French Frys.

 
     
April 25, 2007 Summer League Evaluations - May 11th  
  Coach Fry has reserved two hours of ice time on the 11th of May from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at ITC. Participation is Mandatory for players signed up for Summer League that are new to the Allen Eagle Hockey Club.   This ice time will be to evaluate players and make sure we have them on the right teams so they can enjoy the Summer League.  We encourage all returning players to be on the ice as well, although it is not Mandatory. 

There will however be a Mandatory Meeting of All Parents (Varsity & JV) who have signed their sons up to play Summer League with Coach Fry at 7:00pm on the 11th of May at ITC.

This years Summer League season includes 10 games beginning May 19th and ending July 28th. Cost will be $150 per Player. All checks must be submitted by 5/13 or you will not be allowed to play. Checks can be brought to the meeting or mailed to Fraser Ritchie at 1101 Neches Dr. Allen, 75013 (before the 13th)

April 16, 2007 2007 Texas Cup State High School Hockey Champions!  
  Allen beat Plano West in a 2-1 overtime win in Sunday's championship game of the Texas Amateur Hockey Association Texas Cup at Dr Pepper StarCenter. It is the 1st time in the history of the league that any team has won the City Championship and the State Title in the same year. This 3rd State Title for Allen High School also marks the 1st time that Allen has won both Varsity and JV Gold City Championship titles in the same year. April 16, 2007 2007 JV Gold Metroplex City Champions!  
  Congratulations to the Allen Eagle JV Gold Hockey Team! 2007 Metroplex High School Hockey League JV Gold Division City Champions! The team secured a convincing 4-1 win over McKinney to become the 2007 JV Gold City Champions on Sunday at the Dr. Pepper Star Center.  
     
April 13, 2007 2007 Varsity-Gold Metroplex City Champions!  
  Congratulations to the Allen Eagle Varsity Hockey Team! 2007 Metroplex High School Hockey League Gold Division City Champions! Allen secured a 4-1 win over Plano West in the Metroplex High School Hockey League Gold Division City Championship last night. The Eagles now compete with a number 1 seed in the eight-team Texas Cup 2007 State High School Hockey Tournament that will be played today through Sunday at Frisco's Dr Pepper StarCenter.   Varsity will be in action tonight at the Farmers Branch Dr Pepper Starcenter against Southlake Carroll at 7:00 pm. March 15, 2007 Mandatory meeting - April 2 @ 7:00 pm - Lowery Center  
  The April monthly Board meeting is a mandatory meeting for all current members of the Allen Eagles Hockey Club. It will take place at the Lowery Center on Monday, April 2nd, beginning at 7:00 pm. Voting for the 2007 - 2008 Board of Directors will take place first, followed by an open meeting to discuss summer leagues, summer camps, tryouts for next season, and fundraising.  
     
Feb 27, 2007 Former Allen Eagle to play NCAA Division III Hockey  
  Congratulations to Conor Nunnally, 2006 AHS graduate and former Varsity Ice Hockey player. He will advance to the NCAA Division III level from the Tulsa Rampage to the Nichols College Bisons. Conor is the first former Allen Eagle Ice Hockey player to move to the NCAA to play ice hockey.  See the full press release here

Allen Players featured in "Squeezing Out the Juice: Tackling the Steroid Issue"

  
  Illegal drugs and Steroids are a hot topic. The Communicator Award of Distinction was awarded to the broadcast, Squeezing Out The Juice: Tackling the Steroid Issue. This award is given to projects that exceed the industry standards in production or communication skills. It was filmed about 2 years ago and features some of our Allen Eagles Varsity hockey players. To help preserve the integrity of the game and our organization, the Allen Eagles have a mandatory drug testing and zero tolerance policy in place. Each player must submit to periodic random drug testing. The Board of Directors is proud to report that we are 100% compliant and drug free. Congratulations goes out to each of our players!

Mike Sims, father of Jason Sims, a 2006 AHS graduate and an Alumni of the Allen Eagles Hockey organization passed away this morning after a long battle with brain cancer.

 

A memorial service for Mike Sims will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, November 22, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home/Chapel. 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen Texas 75013     Website: tjmfuneral.com

Nov 9, 2006 Saturday, November 11th - "Super Bowl Saturday"  
  Allen Sports Association (ASA) is holding its annual Super Bowl Saturday football championship games for all age groups.  The Allen Eagles Hockey Club will be running the concessions for the entire day. The event will begin at 8:00 am with the last game scheduled for 6:00 pm.  We would like to get the Varsity players to help out by wearing their jerseys, bringing their girlfriends who can also wear a jersey and help out by selling concessions and promoting Allen Hockey. Varsity players and parents may come out at anytime from 8:00 am - 6:00pm and stay as long as they want.  We also need a few parents to work the late afternoon shifts if possible.

On behalf of the Allen Eagles Board members, I would like to thank a few people for putting together the photo session for all three teams yesterday. First, a special “Thank You” goes to Mike Tower for his generosity in supplying us with the cars for the pictures. Next, another big “Thanks” goes to Rick Erling for taking all the pictures and working to develop them. Finally, another big “Thanks” will be going to Dave Garrison for putting the pictures onto a poster and all the hard work he will be doing for us. Thanks to All!!

Oct 26, 2006 UPDATE for Season Poster PHOTO SHOOT THIS SUNDAY!  
 

Coach Fry expects everyone to attend the Photo Shoot for the Allen Eagles Hockey 2006-2007 Season Poster taking place on Sunday Morning, October 29th. Shooting will begin at 11am. You MUST be dressed in blue jeans and a plain white tee-shirt to participate, also bring your equipment and Allen Eagles hockey bag for placement on the set (no hats!).

The shoot is MANDATORY for all three teams as we now anticipate creating three posters. As such, we will be taking several photos that will include, Varsity Team, Blue Team,  Red Team, Seniors, Captains and the entire three team group.   All Players and Parents! "Uniform/Apparel Pickup Night" is Monday, October 2nd at the Lowery Center (north entrance) . Regular season starts on Thursday so you MUST stop by from 7-8 pm to pickup your apparel and team gear.

  Make a note that our regular monthly Board Meeting is at 7pm on the 9th of October at the AHS Library. As always, this is an "open" meeting and all are encouraged to attend.   Ricardos is hosting our first Spirit Night on Wednesday September 27th. 20% of the bills of that night will go to the hockey team. When you eat there be sure and tell them you are with the hockey team.  Also they plan to duplicate the spirit night the last Wednesday of each month.

All players and parents: Wal-Mart is matching our funds raised at this garage sale so we must raise a minimum of $1,500. It will be held October 21st from 5am till 1pm at Green Elementary. This is a MAJOR FUNDRAISER for the club this year and we need EVERY FAMILY TO DONATE ITEMS. All merchandise may be dropped off at Curtis Odell's house starting Thursday, Oct 19th. Dallas Stars Youth Hockey Recognition Night - Stars vs Coyotes - September 22nd

  
  The Allen Eagles have been invited to be a part of this event on Friday, September 22nd and watch the Stars take on Phoenix. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis and subject to availability at a discounted price. All upper level seats will be $10 and lower level seats will be $25. 
Team Managers are collecting the info now on the number of tickets needed for each team and must get that count back to Fraser Ritchie by August 31st.

  Our thanks go to Kay Holloway for volunteering to be our Banquet Chairperson and Laurenn Smith for joining the committee. They are still in need of a few good committee members to join them in putting together our next banquet. If you'd like to be a part of creating this memorable event, contact Kay, Laurenn or other board member for details.

We are also in need of Team Fundraising Chairpersons for each team (Red, Blue, Varsity). You're primary responsibility is simply to coordinate, align and execute the clubs fundraising efforts headed by Curtis O'Dell and Cathy Kowalski at the team level.

  All rosters have been posted, but we are missing some player photos yet. I've also moved last years Rosters to the new Alumni page. We'd like to keep tabs on our past players. Aug 17, 2006 AHS Ice Hockey Critical Exercise  
 
We were notified tonight that we have a High School League meeting next Thursday,
August 24th and they are expecting all documentation to be handed in at that meeting.
 
The list of documents include:
 
1. USA Hockey Registration for ALL Players and Coaches
 
2. Dr Pepper StarCenter Participant Waiver Form to be signed by ALL Players
 
3. Eligibility Release Form to be signed by all VARSITY Rostered Players.
 
There are other Forms required, as well as the registration fee, that will be handled by
the Board. As information only, the registration fee this year is $5,500 per Varsity
Team and $6,900 per JV Team. The difference in price is based on the number of
league games (JV play more) and Playoffs (JV have more).
 
Also, we are required to have a "Consent to Treat" Form signed by ALL Players.
 
Addressing the logistics of how we get this done we are requesting the following of each
Family.
 
  1. Please register you Son with USA Hockey and then forward to Jeff Solomon or myself the email that indicates you are registered so that we can print off a copy of the form. If you already registered, then you need to forward to myself or Jeff Solomon the email that you received back from USA hockey so that we can print a copy, OR bring a copy to PSA on Tuesday evening, the 22nd. For those that have already provide a copy
 
  2. We will hand out to the Varsity Players at Monday's practice the other forms that need to be signed. There is one for Parents to sign as well. If you are at the practice you can sign them and give them to Jeff or myself. We will be there. If not, please complete and get them to PSA on Tuesday evening. We will be there from 7:00PM until 10:00 PM at the JV practices.
 
  3. JV Players, we will have the forms at practice on Tuesday evening. It will take a couple of minutes to complete the form. Please make sure that at least 1 Parent makes it to practice on Tuesday.
 
Finally, The "Consent to Treat" form requires you to provide your Health Care information. Please make sure you bring that with you on Tuesday.
 
We apologize for this inconvenience, it caught us by surprise, BUT, I would like to be the only Club that shows up with 100% of the requirements on Thursday. I know we can do it.

  Thanks to Greg and Louise Master - JV Blue, Warren Bishop - JV Red and Vince Lopes - Varsity for stepping up to be the Team Managers. We still have openings for JV Red, JV Blue, and Varsity fundraising as well as a banquet planning chairperson and committee. Please consider volunteering as these positions must be filled soon.

The club is in need of a few good volunteers for the 2006-2007 season. We need to identify Chairpersons and Committee members for the following positions.

Varsity Team Manager - POSITION FILLED

JV Blue Team Manager - POSITION FILLED

JV Red Team Manager - POSITION FILLED

Banquet Chairperson and Committee - POSITION FILLED - A chairperson and committee is needed to begin preparation of our next banquet. Our last banquet was an awesome and memorable event. We are already beginning planning for next year!

Fundraising Chairpersons - POSITION OPEN - 1 chairperson for each team (Red, Blue, Varsity) is needed to coordinate and align the clubs fundraising efforts at the team level.

Spiritwear Chairperson - POSITION FILLED 1 chairperson is needed to coordinate the sales of Eagle Spiritwear.
